PaleoServices

PaleoServices provides a one-stop shop for all services related to paleontological resource assessment and mitigation. Our scientists and professional staff have the skills and experience necessary to not only facilitate agency compliance and the conservation of fossils, but to do so in a manner that contributes to the education and knowledge of current and future generations. BioServices gives you direct access to the Museum’s biologists, ecologists, and curators, who are regional leaders in the fields of botany, entomology, herpetology, ornithology, and mammalogy. San Diego Zooarchaeology Laboratory

The San Diego Zooarchaeology Laboratory (SDZL) conducts analysis of animal bones recovered from Pleistocene, prehistoric, and historic sites. With 50 years of combined experience, SDZL experts identify archaeological mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, fish, and shellfish remains, and provide detailed analysis of bone modifications, e.g., worked, butchered, and burnt specimens.
