Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2025 Christmas Bird Count in San Diego!

Your enthusiasm and dedication helped us observe 218 species, with a record-breaking 200 participants! This is highlighted by the rebounding of wintering diving ducks, record numbers of Yellow-crowned Night Herons and Oystercatchers, plus four Bald Eagles. The count circle also saw the roosting of 10 Vaux's Swifts at dusk, a Least Flycatcher, an Ancient Murrelet, and even two unexpected black swans.
