The Museum offers unpaid internships for high school students 16 years and older who are enrolled in an internship program through school. Students rotate through four departments during the internship: Entomology, Paleontology, Botany, and Herpetology. Training and guidance is provided. At least one course in general biology and a strong interest in science and the natural world is required. Patience, dexterity, attention to detail, and a tolerance for dust and dirt are needed. If you will not be receiving course credit, you must be 18 years old to volunteer in the science departments.
Students enrolled in programs in biology, ecology, geology, and other life and earth sciences may be eligible for an unpaid internship for course credit in one of the science departments.
