Residents Free Days

Balboa Park organizations offer free admission (special exhibitions and films are not included) to San Diego City & County residents (with ID), active military, and their dependents on selected days for one day each month. You can see a list of these dates for the next three months by clicking here. The San Diego Natural History Museum offers Residents Free Days on the first Tuesday of each month.

On Residents Free Day, please enter at the south side of the building near the fountain. All guests will exit at the north side of the building near the fig tree.

Strollers are not permitted inside the Museum during busy holiday-period Residents Free Days. Park strollers in the designated area outside the north entrance near the Moreton Bay Fig tree when directed to do so.

Films are not included in Residents Free Day, but tickets are available for $5 per person at the Admissions Desk. The giant-screen theater is included with Balboa Park Explorer Passes , Go San Diego Cards , General Admission and for members of the San Diego Natural History Museum. Please present Balboa Park Explorer Passes, Go San Diego Cards and Museum Membership cards at the Admissions Desks.

School groups and youth groups: A 1:8 ratio is required for all school groups and youth groups that would like to visit on Resident Free Tuesday. Each adult must have proof of residency to be admitted free. Any adults without proof of residency will be asked to pay the admission fee.
