Nat at Night

Calling All Night Owls!

On the third Friday of every month, we'll be open until 10 PM so you can explore the museum after hours. Enjoy access to all exhibitions, programming and activities on select dates, and our rooftop deck for good views and great vibes. Admission is half-price after 5 PM (tickets are available at the door only). As always, members of The Nat and Explorer pass holders enjoy free general admission.

Our rooftop patio offers one of the best views in Balboa Park. It’s open to all visitors and serves beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks including kids’ beverages.

Sip a signature cocktail as you leisurely explore the Museum—here's a map to guide your adventure.

We’re thrilled to host Wolf in the Woods as our restaurant partner for Nat at Night beginning in March of 2024. From the minds behind Great Maple and Hash House a Go-Go, Wolf in the Woods is one of San Diego’s best new restaurants, cultivating warmth, creativity, and an appreciation for our region. Located in the historic heart of Mission Hills, you'll want to learn more about this delicious local restaurant. Just visit our rooftop for a little taste.

Nature calls.

Explore our newest exhibitions after hours. In Expedition Baja, learn about the rugged and beautiful Baja California Peninsula and follow researchers on their quest to conserve its wild beauty. Caught on Camera: Wildlife When No One's Watching features animal candids taken with the help of camera trap technology. Both are located on the 4th floor.

* NOTE: Dates and hours are subject to change; always check this page for up-to-the-minute information. Capacity for the rooftop is limited. Films will not be screened during Nat at Night, so please visit during daytime hours if you'd like to enjoy the Subaru Giant Screen Experience.
