The State of Biodiversity

7th Annual State of Biodiversity Symposium

Thursday, April 18, 2024, 5-9 PM

Join county-wide efforts to conserve and restore biodiversity.

The 7th Annual State of Biodiversity Symposium will convene leading conservationists, scientists, community groups, students, and others to chart a path for protecting and revitalizing nature in San Diego County. As the county with the richest and most threatened species in the lower 48 states, the San Diego conservation community will launch a draft report to synthesize existing efforts and knowledge and to galvanize more inclusive and ambitious restoration efforts.

This year’s Symposium features a panel discussion with conservation leaders from various sectors and serves as a first look at the draft report compiled for the county by SANDAG, The Nonprofit Institute, and The Nat. The symposium will highlight the region's most urgent conservation priorities as identified at the San Diego Biodiversity Conservation Summit held in February (read more about that here).

Finding solutions to complex topics requires convening subject matter experts and engaging the broader community in conversation. Please join us to provide feedback in what is the first step of a multi-month public comment period. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $17 for members, and $15 for Summit workshop participants. They include admission to the networking reception and Nat Talk.
