Internships
The San Diego Natural History Museum does not offer paid internships. Unpaid internships are limited. Internships for course credit require a letter of reference from an academic advisor and a formal agreement with the education institution.
As of June 2008 we have no openings in our science departments and no other internships except those listed below:
Research Library
The Research Library is
seeking library work-study students or interns to assist in acquisitions,
serials, archival work, user education, etc. If you are enrolled in
a library degree or history degree program and would like to gain valuable
experience in a unique science library, please complete the Internship
Application to apply for this position.
This is a weekday opportunity but the work schedule is negotiable.
Special Events
Special Events is seeking potential interns enrolled in Special Events
or Hospitality Programs. This is an opportunity to work on outside
sales and internal museum events, including fundraisers and VIP exhibition
openings. Interns will have a chance to practice computer and organizational
skills while working in a unique environment. The ideal candidate
should be detail-oriented, outgoing, organized and eager to learn.
Experience in working with Mail Merge and Excel is a plus. Spanish-speaking
would be helpful. Please complete the Internship
Application to apply for this position.
The work schedule is negotiable.
