Wifarer at theNAT is a new mobile app that helps you find your way around the Museum with maps and navigation. It is an exclusive, in-Museum experience that helps you find what you need and offers access to videos and stories* that bring the Museum to life. Wifarer at theNAT provides a whole new way to explore the Museum.
Don’t want to download Wifarer onto your own device? No problem. When you visit, you have the option of checking out an iPad pre-loaded with Wifarer, so you can grab one and go. Visit the Admissions Desk for details.
We’re looking for volunteers to help us take our mobile app, Wifarer, to the next level. Volunteers will be asked to join a 2-hour focus group aimed at making indoor navigation and digital storytelling an integral part of our world-class Museum.
To participate, you must:
Feel comfortable walking through the Museum for 45 minutes
Have some familiarity with mobile apps
Have a smartphone
To compensate you for your time, we will provide you with four (4) general admission tickets to theNAT (a $76 value, films not included). If you are interested in being a part of this study, please contact Digital Content Developer Robert Rutherford at 619.255.0177 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you in advance for your consideration in helping with this effort.
Support for this project was provided by The Legler Benbough Foundation,The Institute of Museum and Library Services, and The City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture. The use of iPads at theNAT has been made possible through a grant from Las Patronas.
*Wifarer content is available while in the Museum only.
