This lavishly illustrated new art book features murals that reconstruct life from its earliest appearances on this planet up to 2000 years ago as painted by California artist William Stout. The primary focus of the book is on his recent creation of the twelve murals for the San Diego Natural History Museum's Fossil Mysteries exhibition.

Books purchased at the San Diego Natural History Museum Store include an extra full-color book plate signed by the author. The book plate art was created especially and solely for the San Diego Natural History Museum by Mr. Stout.
