BRCC Data Available
as Google™ Earth Presentations

Google Earth is a free downloadable program that presents the whole world. Users can view the earth from outer space or zoom down to the rooftops of a neighborhood. This program provides the museum a canvas on which we can present our data that is best shown as a geographical distribution. Here are two of our current projects:

San Diego County Bird Atlas
The San Diego County Bird Atlas Google™ Earth presentation includes two layers, the Bird Atlas, showing where individual species have been observed, and the Bird List, showing the birds that have been observed in each square of the grid. Find the birds of your neighborhood using the Bird List. Click the link below to get started.

San Diego County Plant Atlas
The San Diego County Plant Atlas Google™ Earth presentation includes two layers, the Plant Atlas by geographical distribution, and the Plant List which lists the plants collected from individual squares in the grid. Use the Plant Atlas to see how the plants of San Diego County are distributed in our variety of ecological regions.
