Habitat Journey explores regional habitats from ocean to coast, mountains, and desert. Walk-through dioramas make you feel like you are there! Specimens, models, live plants and animals, things to touch and do help you discover what is special about our region and why local habitats are disappearing.

Listen to the sounds of different birds and learn to identify them by their song. Look for animal tracks, homes, and other signs of life in habitats found nearby. Make tectonic plates move and collide to produce earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountains. Explore a cave sparkling with gems and minerals from the region. Feel, hear, and see the desert go from day to night.
  • "See" warm-blooded animals in complete darkness; hunt for kangaroo rats as rattlesnakes do with infrared vision.
