Exhibition Information and Policies

To begin the exhibition: arrive at the queue on Level 2 (south), near the pendulum, at the time on your ticket.

San Diego Natural History Museum Members receive priority entry privileges.

  • It takes an average of 1–2 hours to explore the exhibition.
  • The exhibition is displayed on two different levels of the Museum.
    • BODY WORLDS begins near the pendulum on Level 2 (south).
    • BODY WORLDS continues on the Lower Level (LL) of the Museum.
      To proceed to Lower Level (LL): Take the stairs or elevator down
      two levels to LL.
  • Ticketing requires the exhibition to be seen in this sequence.
  • There is no re-entry into the exhibition; however, please enjoy the exhibition at your own pace. Plan to visit the giant-screen theater prior to or after completing your visit to BODY WORLDS.
  • BODY WORLDS ticketholders may visit the other exhibitions (including Fossil Mysteries and Water: A California Story) and the giant-screen theater in the Museum. See giant-screen theater schedule to plan your visit.
  • Photography is not permitted in the exhibition.

A photo ID is required to pick up Will-Call tickets. Will Call is located under the canopy outside the south “fountain” entrance.

Large bags and backpacks are not allowed in the exhibition. Use of cameras, cell phones, or other recording devices is not allowed inside the BODY WORLDS exhibition. Food and/or drink are only allowed on Level 1 in the atrium near the Dinosaur Café.

Strollers are not allowed in the Museum on the following Free Tuesdays: April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 1.

On Free Tuesdays, the first Tuesday of each month, there is a $5 charge for the giant-screen theater. The giant-screen theater is included with BODY WORLDS tickets, Passports to Balboa Park, Go San Diego Cards and for members of the San Diego Natural History Museum. Tickets are available at the Visitor Services Desks at the Museum.

To ensure an enriching experience for all, the San Diego Natural History Museum asks that a responsible adult, parent, guardian or school chaperone accompanies children under the age of 13.
