Black and White Nature Photography

View magnificent black-and-white, nature-based imagery inspired by the legendary photographer Ansel Adams.

Each photographer will present five of his black-and-white nature photographs. The photographs featured in this exhibition have been expertly curated to preserve the uniqueness of each photographer's dramatic style.

Photographers in On the Trail of Ansel Adams, Black and White Nature Photography include: Charles Cramer, William Neill, Aaron Chang, Abe Ordover, Louis Montrose, Will Gibson, John Clark, James Bourret, Steven Bundy, Lew Abulafia, Tom Scott, John Ford, Gary Zuercher, and Joe Nalven.

Noteable artists:

Charles Cramer  In addition to being one of the best-known landscape photographers in the world, Charles is a concert pianist. His photo bio includes 15 shows at the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park.

William Neill is a columnist for Outdoor Photographer who has published a number of books of his work. He has been published in National Geographic, Smithsonian and a host of other publications.

Louis Montrose has been named Travel Photographer of the Year for 2012. His prize-winning work has been published in Lonely Planet Traveler.

Aaron Chang has created over 100 covers for a variety of magazines. He is best known for his surf and coastal photographs. He operates a gallery in Solana Beach, California.

Abe Ordover has had his work shown in museums and galleries throughout the United States. His latest book, The Roar of the Monarchs, has sold out its first edition and a second run is soon to be published.

Will Gibson is a distinguished photography teacher at Palomar Community College and UCSD Extension.

The opening reception will be on Saturday, January 26, 11 AM–1:30 PM. Free with paid Museum admission.
