Nature Walks

Experience the natural beauty of San Diego County on a one-hour nature walk led by the Museum’s Canyoneers (trained volunteer naturalists). Learn about native plants and animals. Choose from a selection of popular walk locations.

Available October 2008–May 2009
Grades: 2–12
Fee: $2 per student, minimum $30 per class
Days: Fridays
Times: 9:30 or 10:45 AM
Group size: 32 students maximum

NORTH
San Dieguito County Park, Solana Beach/Rancho Santa Fe: year-round
Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, Poway: spring
Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, Mira Mesa: fall, spring
Torrey Pines State Reserve Extension, Del Mar: year-round
San Elijo Lagoon, Solana Beach: year-round

CENTRAL
Kate O. Sessions Memorial Park, Pacific Beach: spring
San Clemente Canyon West, University City/Clairemont: year-round
Florida Canyon, Balboa Park: spring

EAST
Old Mission Dam, Santee: year-round
Mission Trails Regional Park, Santee: year-round
