Internships

High School Students

The Museum offers unpaid internships for high school students 16 years and older. To qualify, you must be enrolled in an internship program through school and receive course credit, and a formal agreement with the school is necessary. Students rotate through three science departments: Entomology, Paleontology, and Botany. Training and guidance are provided. At least one course in general biology and a strong interest in science and the natural world is required. We are not currently recruiting high school interns.

College Students

Students enrolled in programs in biology, ecology, geology, and other life and earth sciences may be eligible for an unpaid internship in one of the science departments. To qualify you must be enrolled in an internship program through a college, and a formal agreement with the college is necessary. We are not currently recruiting college interns, however interested college students who are at least 18 years old, are encouraged to apply for any of our open volunteer positions. Current volunteers may be prioritized for future open intern positions.
