Chenopodium album (Lamb's Quarters) |
Chenopodium album Chenopodium album, or Lamb's Quarters, is an annual plant with alternate leaves, and inconspicuous flowers clustered within the upper leaf axils. It is in the Chenopodiaceae or goosefoot family. This plant was probably originally native to Europe, but is found more or less worldwide in temperate areas now. It is common along roadsides, in disturbed areas and agricultural fields. Pygmy Blue butterflies use plants in the genera Chenopodium and Atriplex, both in the Chenopodiaceae, as host species.
