Over 1100 volunteers work in various museum groups and departments, contributing close to 50,000 hours of work annually. Additionally, the Museum is one of the top three institutions in San Diego that has a record number of volunteers with over 20 years of consecutive service.

Throughout various stages of the strategic planning process, volunteers will be asked to provide their opinions to questions and comments that have arisen during planning meetings, focus or discussion groups.
