Mission

To interpret the geologic and mineralogical world through research, education, and exhibits.

To promote understanding of the dynamic evolution and diversity of the San Diego area and Baja California.

Purpose

To emphasize the geological and mineralogical uniqueness and diversity of the San Diego-Baja California region and its relationship to the world.

To collect, preserve and display mineral and geology specimens for research and teaching for future generations.
