Pamela received her B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Ottawa and M.Sc. in Natural Resource Sciences (Entomology) from McGill University in Montreal. Before coming to the SDNHM, she was a Collections Technician in the Entomology department at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa, where she assisted with numerous research projects by preparing, databasing, and performing digital photography of entomological specimens. She has also aided in the organization and curation of the CMN collection according to current taxonomic standards.

Pamela will focus on accomplishing the following goals during her time at the SDNHM. They are to: 1) create an online storage location inventory that combines data on taxonomy, quantity of material, and collection health to form a baseline for future goals and improvements; 2) reorganize the collection, redistributing space to reflect current and anticipated collection growth and to incorporate several high-quality, recently donated regional collections with urgent needs; 3) re-house the fluid-preserved collection for better long-term storage and access, and 4) develop an online type specimen image database for the 211 primary types held in the department.
