An SDSU graduate way back in 1978, Jim began at the museum as a volunteer and staff in the Herpetology Department in 1976. He switched departments to Entomology in 1994 to begin work on the spider collection. Jim has an interest in the distribution and diversity of spiders in San Diego County and the Baja California peninsula. Since retiring from teaching biology, he has been supervising entomology field projects within the department.
