PaleoServices
has been involved with the professional assessment, discovery,
recovery, preservation, and interpretation of paleontological
resources for over 24 years.
Our efforts and the efforts of our clients have resulted
in the salvaging of thousands of significant fossils from
construction projects in the greater southern California
region. These fossils record the amazing ancient biodiversity
of this region and are helping us understand the remarkable
changes in life and landscape that have occurred over the
past 140 million years of Earth history.
Every year the Department of PaleoServices hosts a reception
at the San
Diego Natural History Museum to thank the many people
who have contributed to the successful salvage and conservation
of fossils from our region. At this reception we display
a diverse selection of the fossils salvaged during the previous
year from residential, commercial,
and municipal construction projects. Guests include land
owners, builders, excavation
contractors, equipment operators, land use planners,
and environmental consultants. |
