What a show the whales put on today for passengers and whalers on board the Ocean Odyssey!
Everyone saw the whales lunge feeding; throat grooves, baleen and pectoral fins visible on six blue whales, including a mom and calf pair. It was definitely a thrilling day for whale-watching--one of the best ever. Top that off with a couple hundred common dolphins, many riding the surge of the vessel, and a good-sized mola mola (ocean sunfish) and it was quite a cruise. Of course the baby sea lions on Los Coronados Islands were another treat. Whalers Ida, Fran, Judy, and Diane were thrilled to share this experience with the passengers aboard.
