About Our Museum George Brooks-Gonyer, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial OfficerGeorge Brooks-Gonyer joined the Museum as Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer in March 2004. Mr. Brooks-Gonyer has over 25 years of experience in many professional environments including financial services, manufacturing, consumer products, and the fast-food industry. At the Museum, his responsibilities have included the full range of financial and accounting functions as well as risk management, operations, visitor services and human resources. In addition to his responsibilities at the Museum, Mr. Brooks-Gonyer is a CFO Partner in the prestigious Tatum Partners, LLP, which provides a broad network of financial resources and information technology leadership to its partners throughout the United States. Mr. Brooks-Gonyer and his wife MaryAnn returned to the San Diego area from Maine, where he was a partner in Tatum's Boston office. In San Diego from 1998 to 2000, Brooks-Gonyer was Chief Financial Officer for The Westwind Group, the fifth largest franchisee of Burger King Corporation. Before that, he was CFO of Carvel Corporation, the nation's third largest chain of frozen dessert shops with sales of approximately $190 million and wholesale distribution to over 4500 supermarkets. As CFO, Brooks-Gonyer developed an additional $15 million of financing for the company and restructured the company's $40 million bank debt, permitting the company to launch a successful repositioning strategy. He holds a master's degree in business from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Trinity College. |
